If you can give one day to Giresun, you need to make a clear choice: the city or nature? Squeezing both into the same day is possible in theory but in practice the day is spent on the road. Below are two separate programmes; pick one.

Option A · City day

For those on a short stop, passing through, or without a car. Everything is within walking distance.

TimePlace
09:00Zeytinlik neighbourhood · stone streets
10:00Giresun Castle · park and view
12:00Lunch in the bazaar · pancar soup
13:30Giresun Museum
15:00If the weather is right, the Giresun Island boat
17:30A walk along the coast, tea
19:00Fish dinner

Pros: No car needed, a relaxed pace, plenty of food options.
Cons: You miss the green that is Giresun's real difference.

Option B · Nature day

If you have a car and want to see Giresun's scenery.

TimePlace
08:00Set out from the centre · towards Dereli
09:30Göksu Travertines · you can go into the water
11:30Trout lunch in the valley
13:00Kuzalan Waterfall
14:30Mavigöl
16:30The way back
18:30Evening in the centre, up to the castle

Pros: You see Giresun's most striking natural spots.
Cons: A car is essential, the day is full, there are entry fees (~165 ₺ per person).

Do not try to go up to a highland in one day. Kümbet is a 3-hour round trip on its own; the time left is not enough to feel the highland.

If you have half a day

If you only have a few hours the choice is clear: Giresun Castle + Zeytinlik. The two together take 2 hours, are in the city centre and explain Giresun's geography at a glance.

On the map

On the map you can see which stops are close to each other and shape your single day around them.
